A decade after Photon TrueSync's first attempt at deterministic multiplayer, Photon Quantum 3 is now Unity Verified, offering input/physics rollback, deterministic ECS, and a free tier up to 100 concurrent users.
Fusion Starter packages three Unity multiplayer samples on Photon Fusion: a third-person controller using Simple KCC, a coin-collecting platformer with RPC nameplates, and a shooter using Fusion's Lag Compensation.
Photon Fusion's Area of Interest sample demonstrates bandwidth-saving AoI alongside Multi-Peer Mode, letting developers spin up multiple test clients, or host multiple game sessions, from a single Unity instance.
Photon raised its free tier from 20 to 100 concurrent users for both Fusion and Quantum apps, covering development and soft launch, activated in one click from the Photon Dashboard on one app per studio.
